TOYOTA (LEXUS) SOARER V8 LIMITED

I wanted a V8 Limited Soarer to play with, the complexity of many of the systems is a challenge but being both a mechanic and electronics/computer technician that appeals to me.

For a car made in 1991 it has some incredible features which include;

Satellite navigation and television (now obsolete thanks to changes in technology).
Fully electric front seats and steering wheel with memory.
Electronically managed height adjustable airbag suspension (early stability control).
Electronic traction control.
EMV (Electro Multi Vision) that talks to just about every system in the car, including running the climate control, stereo, vehicle diagnostics, service warnings, fully functional trip meter and much more.
4.0L quad cam 24 valve all alloy V8.
4 speed electronically managed auto transmission.
Cd stacker stereo system with additional amplifier and subwoofer with its own amplifier. (Now replaced).
Digital dash.

Later additions are;
Limited slip diff.
Extractors and sports exhaust with stainless mufflers.
Amp and subwoofers, with mp3 stereo unit.
Auto dim LCD rear view mirror.
Reversing camera.
Crash cam.
Towbar.
HID headlights.
OZ alloy wheels.

This a great car that was mostly sound but had some issues that needed looking at.
These included;

Clear coat peeling on front (plastidipped front bumper top and new clear coat on bonnet)
Various broken and worn trims (all replaced)
Worn out drivers seat (Renewed top half of seat)
Brake accumulator needed renewing (Done)
Bumper indicators needed replacing (Done)
Steering wheel needed recovering (Done)
EMV needed replacing (Done)
Drivers headlight needed repair (Done)
Broken vents needed replacing (Done)

Now I've finished all the repairs and upgrades the car has been laid up until I need to use it.

        Cracked leather on drivers seat Quad cam 32 valve 4.0 V8 OZ Alloys Recond angel eye headlight with HID and LED fittings
Parking aid EMV removed   7" LCD to fill the hole. Re-covered steering wheel Front bumper painted in Plastidip due to peeling clear coat Subtle Lexus badge Badged rear, not Lexus but I liked the dragon badge.

Reversing camera and hidden towbar with tongue removed Interior all done and ready for a clean. Screen for reversing camera/crash cam, EMV now re-fitted, Samsung 7" tablet with GPS, extra usb and 12v outlets. The EMV (Electro Multi Vision) is a very complex bit of gear that talks to just about every system in the car.
Here I am repairing one of my 3 spare units.
Repairs completed and testing on my workbench.
Out of 3 non functional EMV's I have so far repaired 2 which I'll put on the shelf just in case.
